Knowledge, Theorization and Rights: Renegotiating the Connectives is an attempt at reckoning the relationship between ‘Knowledge’, ‘Rights’ and the effort to Theorize’ from contemporary critical perspectives. Is there a still dominantly operative modernist algorithm and ambience in negotiating ‘Knowledge’ ‘Rights’ and ‘the efforts to Theorize’ them? Do the alarming present-day contexts of global crises tendencies demand a newer perspective to understand and map the relationship as the connectives among ‘Knowledge, Theorization and Rights’? The articles in the Volume explore into the broader aspects of Knowledge in connection with Rights to make them stand in dialogue with more empirically and conceptually poised ideas of Theorization. The theoretic and the descriptivist edge of the papers in the Volume emphatically draw our attention to the need to theorize further the differentiating domains of the ‘critical’ and the ‘descriptive ‘in a pronounced manner.
About the Author
Dr Pius V Thomas is Faculty at the Department of Philosophy, Assam University, Silchar. His research interest is focused mainly on the question of the possibility of contextualizing Human Rights, which can negotiate the philosophical concept of Inter-culturality and Critique, Ethics and Reason, Democracy and Religion, Environmental Ethics and Philosophy of Education. He has two other edited volumes of similar interest to his credit – Human Rights: Theory and Context and The Displaced: Roots and Reality.
