It was two years ago when we were doing a Strategic Planning for Resource Development (SPRD) in view of making our case to ASHA (American Schools and Hospitals Abroad) that we looked out for someone to help with the project preparation and it was then that Priyamrita with her Don Bosco connections in Guwahati, and work experience in Delhi happened to move into the neighborhood of the Siliguri Campus of the College.
Though our plans to raise resources from USAID despite a lot of work taking it up to the Don Bosco Missions, New Rochelle, as our US partner, did not make much headway, we got a resource person in Priyamrita. She has been re-inducted a year ago, to coordinate the Alumni office and is making quick strides in getting in touch with more and more of the past students of the college.
It is part of our sincere and concerted effort to reach out to you and to share the news of where we are now, with you. I want to thank all those who have been generous, in reaching out to me during my recent sabbatical, in the US, both on the east coast, midlands north and south, and the west coast.
Some of you called up, invited over, and even shared your abode, vehicle, and most precious of all – time – with me. I will ever remain grateful, on behalf of Don Bosco, who brought us into each other’s lives. Kindly consider Priyamrita as an extension of the present Salesian set up wanting to share with you all that we are because of what you were when you were part of Salesian College. I want to thank Priyamrita for her dedication, and wish her, her husband and son, the very best in life. All God’s Blessings on You, who reached reading this far, too.
Warmly,
Fr George Thadathil sdb
