My Dear Friends (Alumni),
Allow me to begin this month’s message with the sad news of the demise of our friend Mr. Promod Rasaily, Designer and Technical Assistant of our College. He passed away in sleep on the 26th January 2019. It was a great shock for his family, near and dear ones, for our college and for the many people whom he served so lovingly, always with a smile. He was a very good friend and a wonderful human being, who went out of his way to help everyone. May God in His goodness and mercy receive him into his eternal abode.
I would like to share with you during the coming months a series of thoughts on positive parenting as most of you are parents already or on the way to being parents sooner or later. Of course, these are not unknown to you but meant to be only a little reminder.
- Be proud of your child for what he/she is. Do not link your status in society with his/her achievements or failures.
- Help your child cultivate the habit of reading by spending some time in your daily routine reading yourself. It is an invaluable habit for life.
- Praise your child for the effort, regardless of whether he/she wins or loses.
This will help him tackle failures positively and work continuously towards his/ her goal.
We at Salesian College pray for you all daily and wish you good health and happiness.
Your Affectionate Father and Friend,
Fr.(Dr.) Mathew Pulingathil SDB
