Wellness Being
In a world of today when the world shivers and bows to Covid -19 let me take you to think of the thousands who dare to heal the sick with a smile. The courage they exhibit, the consolation they radiate, the sacrifices they make, the physical fatigue they face under the PPE and the bravery can inspire us. But the media continue to haunt us. Regular news about big numbers being affected by sickness, jobs lost, economy on a downward move, education in confusion, and trying to emerge with new ways. Technology taking hold of individuals and families. Children missing the joys of the school; youngsters getting lost as they miss colleges, movie halls, malls, and all the social enjoyments. How to stand relevant in these pandemic times? There are ways in which one can enjoy psycho-wellness through various stimulants. The present generation needs to reimagine their life ahead. Life has to be pro-active. Set the mind on a progressive mode by cognitive distancing from the dangerous concoctions of the mind to the reality/ to the actual situation that less than 5% succumb to the sickness; that too due to varying other reasons. Convert your anxious thoughts as guesses and not as facts. As the death rate is projected high due to covid-19, people’s lives are safer with cleaner environments, lesser accidents, and other sicknesses. Practice Cognitive Defusion to have more clarity with one’s thoughts. Finally, practice mindfulness to avoid being a victim to automatic reactions to apparent news and views. Enjoy peace and serenity. Thus fight Covid-19: be daring, be caring, be joyful, and be united with all the care taken as a community and as individuals. Let the God of power sustain, protect, and heal the world.
