Adieu Fr Varghese Kalluvachel
Adieu Fr Varghese Kalluvachel
- George Thadathil SDB
You preceded me from the province to Pune
Rome, the eternal city prepared you to priesthood
Philosophy acquired in India and Abroad
Stayed before you as twin paths yet to meet.
Delving into teaching young minds elaborately
Giving you life and breath in expounding
Doctrines and thought-worlds to bewildered
And yet minds that could be cajoled and did console.
Teaching and Preaching to Action in the field
Of hardcore addicts and an expert you became
On de-addiction and detachment in Ministry
Pastoral fields of Mirik and Formation in Sri Lanka.
In search you were for ‘something more’ always on Way What Rome had yet to offer in Theology it came
Spirituality, religious life, consecration and theories
An attempt to integrate life, and piece it together.
Return to Sonada you did and an aspired for Goal
Cherished and nurtured for long came your way
In changed circumstances, and did you
The favour of taking you home-bound, Amen.
